L-Shape Desks for Dual Monitors: Setups That Actually Fit in GTA Offices (2026)

Two monitors are standard equipment now — for accounting, design, dispatch, sales, development, and almost every admin role in between. The problem is that many desks were never designed for them. Screens end up angled awkwardly, the keyboard sits too close, paperwork has nowhere to go, and cables spill everywhere. A properly sized L-shape desk solves the geometry. At Ufficio Furniture, new L-shape desks start from $545 CAD, in sizes and finishes made for real GTA offices and home offices.

Start at https://www.ufficiofurniture.com and browse the range at https://www.ufficiofurniture.com/l-shape-desk before you measure up.

Put the monitors in the corner — correctly

The corner of an L-shape is the natural home for dual monitors, but only if the corner itself is usable. A curved or extended corner gives you depth where it counts, so both screens can sit at a comfortable viewing distance with their stands fully on the desk, not hanging over the edge. The bowfront extended-corner style in this guide's photo shows that extra corner depth clearly.

As a working rule, keep screens roughly an arm's length away, with the tops of the displays near eye level. Two 24-inch monitors fit comfortably on most 66-inch and 72-inch main surfaces, with the corner carrying the stands and the return free for a laptop, phone, notebook, or printer. If you run two 27-inch monitors plus a laptop screen, say so before you buy — that setup wants the wider main top and a deeper corner, and choosing it in advance is far cheaper than replacing a desk that is six inches too small.

Monitor arms help, but they are not magic. An arm clamped to a thin top or set too far forward eats the space it was meant to save. If you plan to use arms, tell us when you order so the top, gable, and cable routing suit them.

Left return or right return? Decide from the room

An L-shape desk has a main surface and a return, and the return can sit on the left or the right. The right answer comes from the room, not from habit. Look at the door, the window, the outlets, and where a visitor chair would go. Most people prefer the return on their non-dominant side for paperwork and a phone, with storage drawers on the return within easy reach.

Also think about what the return is for. A return used as a writing and paperwork surface should stay clear and at the same height as the main desk. A return used mainly for a printer and files can carry a pedestal underneath. Combo units in our new L-shape line include practical storage configurations, and sit-stand L-shape options are available for people who alternate between focused screen work and calls throughout the day.

Measure honestly. Record the full wall lengths, baseboard to baseboard, plus the door swing and any radiators, columns, or low windowsills. A 72-inch desk that blocks half a doorway is the wrong desk, even if it looked perfect in the showroom.

Cables, power, and the unglamorous details that matter

Dual-monitor setups mean at least six cables: two display cables, two power leads, a laptop or dock connection, and a charger — before a desk lamp or speaker appears. Plan one accessible power location near the corner, route display cables together behind the screens, and keep the dock where you can reach it without climbing under the desk.

A modesty panel or gable on the visitor side hides the cable run and makes a home office look finished on video calls. In a commercial office in Mississauga, Brampton, Vaughan, or Toronto, that tidy appearance matters when clients visit. Ask about cable management when you get your quote; adding it at order time is simple, while retrofitting it later rarely looks as clean.

Chair space is the final check. Your task chair needs room to roll back and turn between the main desk and the return without striking either. Leave genuine knee space under both surfaces, and do not place a pedestal where your legs need to be.

New L-shape value in the GTA

A new L-shape desk gives you matched finishes across the main top, return, and storage, a full working life ahead of it, and the exact size your room needs — including custom sizes through our made-to-order new line. Used L-shapes can be excellent value when the size happens to fit, but dual-monitor corner depth is the detail used stock most often gets wrong. Compare both in store, sit at the corner, and picture your actual screens in place.
