Used Teknion Cubicle Delivery & Installation in the GTA: Costs, Timelines & What to Expect (2026)
Buying the cubicles is only half the job. The other half — getting panels, work surfaces, and power into your building, level, connected, and ready for Monday morning — is where most office projects succeed or stall. Because Teknion is Ufficio Furniture's main cubicle inventory by far, we deliver and install used Teknion systems across the GTA every week. Here is what that process actually involves, what it costs in CAD, and how to prepare so install day goes smoothly.
What delivery actually involves
A single Teknion workstation is not one box. It is panels, connectors, work surfaces, pedestals, overhead storage, and electrical components, all of which have to arrive together and in the right order. For a typical order, product is pulled from our Mississauga warehouse, checked against the layout, wrapped, and loaded so the first stations to be built come off the truck first.
Delivery cost depends mainly on three things: how many stations you ordered, how far your building is from Mississauga, and how the building receives freight — ground-level access is simple, while a downtown Toronto tower with a booked freight elevator and a loading-dock time window takes more crew time. That is why delivery and installation are quoted per project once we see your floor plan and station count, rather than as a flat fee that would overcharge small orders and underquote large ones.
What a professional installation includes
Installation starts with the layout marked on the floor, not with a panel standing up. A good crew confirms column positions, window lines, and power feed points against the plan, then builds in sequence: panels first, levelled and connected, then work surfaces at the correct height, then storage, then the electrical and data pathway through the panel base.
The finishing details matter more than most buyers expect. Panels should be plumb and consistent in height, gables and end trims fitted, receptacles tested, and every station left clean and work-ready. With used Teknion — TOS, Leverage, and Expansion systems — an experienced installer also matches components across stations so fabric, trim, and surface finishes look deliberate and uniform, even when the system was assembled from refurbished inventory.
What it costs in CAD
Start with the furniture itself. Used Teknion workstations at Ufficio Furniture typically start around $700 CAD per station for TOS and around $899 CAD per station for Leverage, with a fully configured station — overhead bin, pedestal, and power — often landing around $1,100 CAD. The same stations new commonly run roughly $3,000 to $5,000 CAD or more per seat, before delivery and installation are added on top.
Delivery and installation are then quoted on the project: station count, system type, site access, elevator bookings, and whether old furniture needs to be removed first. As a rule, the larger and better-planned the project, the lower the per-station install cost, because crew setup and trucking are spread across more seats. The honest way to budget is to ask for one written, all-in CAD quote — furniture, delivery, and installation together — so there are no day-of surprises. That is how we quote, and we recommend you insist on it from any seller.
How long it takes — realistic timelines
For in-stock used Teknion, the furniture itself is the fast part: there is no factory lead time. A small order of five to ten stations can often be scheduled within days once the layout is confirmed, subject to crew and elevator availability. A 20- to 50-station floor usually needs one to two weeks of planning — final layout approval, power locations confirmed, elevator and dock booked — followed by installation that is typically completed in one to three days on site, depending on station count and complexity.
The delays we see most often are rarely about furniture. They are about buildings: a freight elevator that was never booked, a certificate of insurance the property manager needs before the crew can load in, or power feeds that are not where the plan assumed. Confirming those three items a week ahead is the single best way to keep your move-in date.
How to prepare your building
Before install day, walk the route the furniture will travel: dock or door, elevator size, corridor turns, and the floor itself. Measure tight corners if your building is older — GTA industrial conversions and older towers can both surprise you. Book the freight elevator for a window that covers unloading and setup, tell your landlord or property manager the date, and ask early whether they need insurance paperwork from the installer.
On your floor, confirm where power and data enter each row, clear the area where stations will be built, and decide in advance where any existing furniture goes. If old cubicles need to come out, say so at quoting time — removal and decommissioning can be planned into the same visit instead of becoming a second project.
