Used Teknion Cubicles: The Final Walkthrough Checklist Before You Sign Off in the GTA (2026)
The install crew is packing up, the panels are standing, and someone asks the question that matters most: are we actually done? A final walkthrough is your last easy chance to catch the small things — a wobbly worksurface, a dead outlet, a missing pedestal key — while the crew, the tools, and the spare parts are still in the room. Once everyone leaves, every fix becomes a second visit and a second disruption for your team.
Used Teknion cubicles start from $495 CAD per station at Ufficio Furniture. A popular in-stock option is the Teknion Leverage 72"x72"x51" quad at $650 CAD per station, with 500 in stock. Whatever configuration you buy, the walkthrough is the same discipline: go station by station, with a list, and do not sign off from the doorway.
Start With Structure: Panels, Surfaces, and Level
Begin with what you can see and touch. Every panel should stand plumb and tight to its neighbours, with no gaps at the connectors and no scuffs that were not there in the showroom photos. Press along the top of each panel — a solid Teknion run feels rigid, not springy. Check that panel heights match the plan across the whole run; one taller panel in a row of 51-inch panels is easy to miss from a distance and impossible to unsee afterwards.
Run a hand along every worksurface edge. Edges should be smooth, the surface level, and the corner joints flush. Sit at each station, lean on the surface the way a person actually works, and confirm there is no rocking or flex. Open and close every overhead storage door and flipper — they should latch cleanly without forcing. If your layout includes glass or accent tiles, check each one is seated and clean.
Then Power, Data, and Storage at Every Seat
A cubicle that looks finished but has no power is not finished. Bring a phone charger or a simple outlet tester and check every receptacle at every station. Confirm data jacks are where the plan put them, and that cables are routed through the panel raceways, not trailing across the floor. If a station was supposed to have two power drops and has one, this is the moment it gets fixed in minutes.
Storage checks are just as practical. Slide every pedestal drawer fully open and closed. Drawers should run evenly, locks should turn, and you should leave with the keys in hand, counted. Check overheads for shelf pins and dividers if they were part of the order. For the Leverage quad at $650 CAD per station, confirm each of the four stations has its pedestal in the agreed position — left or right — because swapping one later means partly dismantling the station.
Compare the Floor Against the Plan, Out Loud
Walk the room with the layout drawing in hand and count. Count stations, count storage units, count sit-stand bases if any were mixed in. Confirm aisle widths match what your building and accessibility needs require, and that no station blocks a door swing, a sprinkler line of sight, or an emergency exit path. Check the details people forget: end panels finished on exposed run ends, trim pieces on corners, and a consistent finish across every station so the floor reads as one office, not several deliveries.
This is also when you confirm what happens to the leftovers. Spare tiles, extra connectors, and touch-up pieces should either stay with you, labelled, or go back with the crew by agreement — not vanish. If the install replaced old furniture, confirm the old pieces are staged where your removal plan says they should be.
What to Do When You Find a Snag
You will probably find something small. That is normal, and it is exactly what the walkthrough is for. Write each item down with the station number, take a photo, and agree on the fix and the timing before the crew leaves: fixed today, fixed on a named return visit, or swapped from warehouse stock. With 500 Leverage stations in stock, a damaged panel or surface can usually be swapped rather than repaired, which keeps your opening date intact.
Do not let a snag list become a dispute. A written, photographed list signed by both sides protects you and the installer, and it keeps the final payment conversation simple.
